CLASS REPS: Jordan Hartkorn, Jennifer Lui and Laura Stoll Womersley Hilary Young Riley married Crescent grad Andrew Riley on September 22, 2017 at The Royal Canadian Yacht Club in Toronto. They met in Grade 11 when they were paired up in the Crescent fashion show Portfolio (although they didn’t start dating until many years later...). Their bridal party included three Havergal grads: Anna McMeekin , Kirsten Wynn and Robyn Rider 2006. Lisa Garard is teaching physical education, health and mindfulness at Children’s Garden School in Toronto. While Amanda Brennan continues to find her role as in- house legal counsel to Ornge air ambulance interesting and exciting, the most exciting thing to happen to her in 2017 was her engagement to Eric Hatch. Amanda and Eric plan to marry in May 2018. Bronwyn Coombs spends a fair amount of time scaling rock walls and hanging out in ambulances as a volunteer medical first responder with two the app store, teaching kids about money through play. She was honoured to receive the Canadian Credit Union Association’s Five under 35 award. Lauren Robinson splits her time between Toronto and Vancouver in her roles as COO at Highline BETA and executive director of Female Funders. She was honoured to be named one of the Top 30 Canadian Women in Tech for her contributions to corporate innovation and diversity in venture capital. Gia Cleare Sands and her husband Michael celebrated the first birthday of their daughter Zaya Rae Sands on March 3, 2018. Jen Sceviour is a certified yoga instructor and launched her new business – yoga44.com – which brings effective and mindful 44-minute classes to groups in the home or office. Utako Tanebe is working as an architectural designer in Ohio, in her fourth year on the Cleveland Clinic Health Education Campus project – one of the largest buildings ever in Cleveland. She enjoys riding horses whenever possible. Nicole Tapscott is head of Casper, Canada and welcomed CLASS OF 2003

her daughter Victoria Leo in September. Laura Hamilton and her husband welcomed their second child Edison “Eddie” James Twigge. Leen Al Zaibak made it official by marrying Michael Henry on November 25 at the Art Gallery of Ontario and has settled into their new loft in Trinity Bellwoods. She also started working for the legislative parliament of Ontario in the Office of International Relations and Protocol as a senior policy advisor.

organizations. She also volunteers with Camp Oochigeas, both as a counsellor during the summer and a programmer at SickKids. Jessica Zive very happily moved back to Toronto to start her career as a palliative care and hospice physician after many years away. She is getting married in August 2018. Ethel Cohen Weiner also moved back to Toronto from New York City and had a baby girl. Kristen Moore decided to venture out on her own as a psychologist in private practice in Toronto. This has allowed her to pursue other hobbies including taking a creative writing class, travelling to the Peruvian Amazon for a women’s retreat, spending time with her husband and two dogs and renovating her 130-year-old home in Parkdale. Elizabeth (Lizzie) Mingay continues to build a steady practice as a naturopathic doctor in Leaside in Toronto. She has been at this location for more than five years. Her practice focuses on a variety of health concerns and her most-usedmodalities are acupuncture, intravenous vitamin therapy and nutrition.
