CLASS NEWS

CLASS REPS: Joanne Hyde Gooding and Diane King MacNicol Julie Di Lorenzo was awarded the honour of Hall of Fame by BILD, the Greater Toronto Home Builders Association. She was nominated to the board of Waterfront Toronto by the province of Ontario, and is on the board of The York School. Her daughter Chiara 12 and son Rob 9 are both at the York School. Her husband Rob Graham is on the Bruce Trail Board and board of the Good Shepherd Homeless Shelter. Amanda Sutton Tarling would love to come to the Reunion, but will have to wait until “40 years on.” She has a profoundly disabled son and it’s hard for her to get away for an extended time. She also has a daughter who is 18. Amanda is a Unitarian lay chaplain officiant in Kelowna. In a recent sermon about love, she encouraged people to rekindle a passion from their youth. It made her think of how much she enjoyed all of her years at Havergal. Pamela Douglas Hofley lives in New Hampshire with her husband. She works at Dartmouth as both the medical director and the associate chief quality officer. Her two girls are at university. Audrey Carr lives and works in New York as the director of immigration and special projects at Legal Services NYC, a non-profit organization that provides in our 35th Reunion. Amy Vanderburgh has two girls; Ashley is at vet school in Grenada and Alannah is at U of T doing her master’s. Amy’s husband is still chasing the bad guys with the RCMP! We know who to call when we get into trouble. Tracy Wrong is a director at The Royal Ottawa Hospital in the mental health facility. She and her husband have three children, all at university. She blew off our 35th for Adele, but we hope to see her at our 40th. Kathie Morris Wood is busy with her real estate career and planning the wedding of one of her sons in September. Cathy Patterson works with B.C.’s Recreation and Parks Association; she oversees all registered fitness leaders in the province. When she’s not trying to figure out her 16-year-old twins, she’s renovating her basement. More room for visitors, please! Mary Metcalf Muir still CLASS OF 1982

runs her business MaryPopsIn. She is also working part time at Havergal and running her fundraiser ‒ James’ Journey. This past April was the fifth Anniversary of James’ Journey and she thanks everyone for their support! We did receive news from everyone else in our class but, when we fact-checked, we realized that they were sending us alternative facts and fake news so we were not able to share it with you although, as one of our classmates Kara Spence pointed out, it would have made for more interesting reading. In closing, we want to thank Robin Harris Porter, Tiana Koffler Boyman, Kingi Carpenter and Leslie Dennis for making our 35th Reunion a special event. Until next time!
