CLASS OF 1957 BURSARY TOTAL AS AT MAY 31, 2017
CLASS REPS: Cynthia Johnson Clarkson and Linda FitzGerald Grasley 1957 to 2017 = 60 years! We will celebrate this occasion at the annual Reunion Weekend (usually the first weekend in October). Please let us know if you are coming and if you would prefer dinner or lunch on the Saturday. Options are a catered meal at Cynthia’s home, a restaurant or club – price to be determined. We are saddened to report the death of Elizabeth (Betsy) Batten Bertram , School Captain of our year. We will all miss her steadfast way of living life to its fullest. Joan Collacutt Chaffe was on the move again and now lives in Trenton, Ontario. Janet Evans Clarke has happily settled in Richmond Hill. Diane (Di) Gower Dent continues to work part time at Redeemer University. She and Peter travelled to France and Switzerland, as well as to Florida. Linda FitzGerald Grasley crossed another trip off of CLASS REP: Diane (Di) Hume Ward In January, Pam Purdy Kernaghan died of a heart attack. Many of us attended a beautiful service, and more sent notes and pictures which were printed in the order of service. Judy Kinsey Falusi will stay in the north (Midland, Ontario) for the winter for the first time in years! Brrrrr … Cynthia (Tinks) Thun Willauer joined the Women’s March in Washington in January. She may move back to Canada! She and her husband tried to board a flight to Cuba but, because they were not with a tour, they couldn’t get beyond the questioning regarding their purpose. They are escaping the cold by going to Key West for a week in March. Liz Blunt Poarch enjoyed a trip to Trinidad and she and her brother visited their birthplace, Sarnia, where they reunited with cousins whom they hadn’t seen in years. her bucket list by taking a Globus Tour of the First and Second World War Canadian Monument sites in France and Belgium. Veronica Lattman Arthur still serves and contributes to her various boards. It was great to see her at the Trinity College Reunion in Toronto. Overseas travel included two weeks in Iran. Alexandra (Sandy) Kennedy Lager is cheerful and fun to talk to, in spite of health issues. Pam Hooper Richardson spends much of her time in Florida and then at their cottage on Stoney Lake with family. Ruth Moran Robert enjoys a very active social life in Florida and Toronto. Nancy Milburn Taylor is happy with her family and plays lots of bridge. Jane Cogan Upton keeps jokes flying on the Internet from Calgary.

Melanie; Peter visited in December. She sold her house and is settled in Vancouver. She keeps fit by walking and enjoys visiting Mel and family in Whistler on the weekends. Jane hopes to visit Toronto next year. Sylvia Swinden Milne travelled to Greece, Israel, Egypt, Suez Canal, Jordan, Oman and Dubai. Frances Ruttan makes “Scraptures” from fabric scraps and shows in the annual Oshawa Fibre Arts Show. Her daughter Kitty, a professor, has recently graduated her second PhD student! Her son Tim owns a graphic design firm. Her two grandkids are doing well in graphic and performing arts. Kitty’s Alana (11) entertained Great Grannie Emery (103) with a trombone concert at Christmas. Hubby Alan fights climate change; Tim and Alan will soon launch his website, Stable Climate . Ann Tottenham visited Calgary for Christmas and fell prey to a virus with the rest of the family. Judy Musgrave Burgress hopes to visit J.A. in Vancouver. Last year, she
