CLASS OF 1988 BURSARY TOTAL AS AT MAY 31, 2017
CLASS REPS: Jane Langford and Lillian Tang Smith Soraya Peerbaye’s Tell: poems for a girlhood , shortlisted for the 2016 Griffin Poetry Prize (Canadian), traces the events surrounding Reena Virk’s 1997 murder by high school classmates. Radha Chaddah ’s light installations of cellular photographic work continue to delight at various exhibits and galleries. StephanieGalloway is chiefmarketing and revenue officer for Medcan. Ayala Revah Silverberg performed at Carnegie Hall with the Hart House Orchestra. In Hollywood, Sandra Kovaks Caryl recently produced eight commercials and enjoys riding her horse Zuko. Fast-paced life continues for Alex Farrugia MacDonald with the growing anesthesia requirements of Revelstoke’s new ski industry resort culture, hospital work in Vernon and her three growing sons. Yvonne Healy Robertson has expanded SaharaTea into the Middle East; she offers a mentorship program for university students. Krista Sutton shot a comedy film, 30 Nights , joined the new musical adaptation of Anne of Green Gables and sells her illustrations on Etsy. Lisa Roth Collins continues in real estate while consulting for Naturally Savvy. Dawn Creber O’Dwyer rejoined the Toronto Mendelssohn choir and celebrated her 20th wedding anniversary ‒ as did Lillian (Tang) Smith and Siân Hollyman Raphael . Siân
works in accounting in B.C. and is adjusting to having high- schoolers. Currently serving as secretary on Dell Children’s Medical Center Foundation and the LBJ Family Foundation, Nicole Nugent Covert is happily empty nesting in Texas. Congratulations to Kathryn Ruhland , who welcomed her second son Davie in December, a brother to Jamie (2)! Catherine Wearing spends her free time rock climbing and ice climbing (covering all the seasons!) After years in the film industry, Erin Whitten Crysdale has turned her creative endeavours to acrylic and oil painting, and participated in Toronto’s The Artist Project. Christina Mehler Turner is working in strategic planning and innovation at TD Insurance. Kim Rygiel is researching “Humanitarian Aid, Citizenship Politics, and the Governance of Syrian Refugees in Turkey” and is an associate political science professor at Wilfrid Laurier. Sara Redman launched SRA Corporate Change, focusing on creating positive change through strategy, leadership, culture and well-being. Heidi Bassett Blair lives in the Cayman Islands with her family. Her photographic series Plastic in Paradise was displayed at the National Gallery in Cayman. She’s also training as a yoga teacher in Bali and
Helen Daniel and Sandra Cary, Class of 1988.
