CLASS OF 1985 BURSARY TOTAL AS AT MAY 31, 2017

CLASS REPS: Gina Ogilvie, Cathy Wright Southey and Louise Stevenson Hard to believe that we are mostly all 50! Lots of wonderful celebrations to launch our next 50! At the beginning of the best chapter of our lives, many of you have started new chapters of your own! Elizabeth Henry Walford has launched a successful consulting career. Janis Macdonald is taking on an exciting new challenge in youth mental health. Carrie Russell is a chief strategist for the FinTech space. Wendy Lloyd McVey has a new role at Hootsuite Media and continues to enjoy life as a newlywed. Louise Stevenson has recently joined RBC Dominion Securities and is loving her new role. Nancy Barker Smith and her little dog weathered the storms out East. The ever-modest Gina Ogilvie is assistant director of Women’s Health Research Institute AND the senior public health scientist at the BC Centre for Disease Control AND is an awesome mom to her two kids. Janet Stephenson Smith has renovated and moved into her childhood home. The author for whom Robyn Woolsey is the editor made the final three for the Mills & Boon (Harlequin Romance) Man of the Year. Many of us have children who are graduating from university, including Lisa Boxall Buchan ’s son from Williams and Sarah Sharpe Renzoni ’s son Charlie from Queen’s engineering. Charlie will be working in management consulting. Sarah Endicott Wellings is busy chasing her three active girls and travelling with her family. Sandra Hooper Heldman ’s successful skier and snowboarder keep her busy travelling to ski hills around North America. Melissa Ruth ’s Facebook posting tells us that she has been doing a lot of decluttering lately and finding some gems – keep them coming. Kaerynne Pohlak Nakamura ’s talented daughter

Astrid has been accepted as a member of the National Youth Orchestra – check out their tour dates to see if you can catch them in action this year. Katherine (Katie) Benson Patten continues to love life in Thornbury and just welcomed a new puppy named Sherman. Jean Beale loves life in Van and took a great trip to New York City with her lovely husband. Catherine (Cathy) Catto McKeever and Michelle Mehra Shouldice ’s daughters followed in their mother’s footsteps by singing beautifully in the school choir. Suzanne Gordon enjoys a successful career with the provincial government (thank goodness she is there) and is busy supporting the various activities in which her son and daughter participate. Lindsay McDonald Hyland now has both daughters on the West Coast of Canada – Caitlyn at UBC and Allison at Shawnigan Lake School. Many of you have become very keen road bikers, including Paula Locke Strezos , Kaerynne Pohlak Nakamura and Elizabeth Henry Walford . Cathy Milne Falconer is enjoying her new home with her new love, Scott. Cathy Johnston is engaged to Greg and they have spent the last year renovating a house in Rosedale. Gabriella (Gabby) Lanzarini Naylor still works with her husband in their architecture business. Nancy Bell ’s daughter has come back to Canada to attend the University of Victoria. Kate McCowen Bahen continues to run Charity Intelligence and is contemplating a move to the city. She was a judge for the Fulford Cup, in which she competed with Holly Furness Allardyce . Kate’s daughter Spyder Bahen competed for the first time and was impressive…just like her mother. Cathy Wright Southey is on the board at the B&R and spends more time managing the aftermath of the fire than playing. Carolyn Hunter Kirkwood continues to run a successful consulting practice in Vancouver.
